Re: MCORnfused
The kit that you bought, AM293201 is designed to replace an existing potbox or multi-step potentiometer. The wire harness that came with the kit is designed to plug directly into the old potbox plug or multi-step potentiometer plug. Since you have no wiring on the cart, you're going to have to approach this a little differently. What year model is the vehicle you're trying to install this on? Series/Sepex? What controller are you running? I'll send you any diagram that I can to make this easier on you, but first I need to familiarize myself with exactly what you're trying to do.

Re: MCORnfused
Thank you all! I will be honest and say that I am starting to get frustrated and just needed to walk away from this last night. I admit that my electrical skills are not that great (although not non existent either) and this is starting to test me.
The cart is an '86 DS, and the controller is a Curtis 1268. The CC wiring looms are factory (I think those came in your kit, Dave?), but I believe that the overall harness was made up by the supplier of the controller, motor and solenoid (purchased before I was savvy enough to use site vendors). Here's a quick shot of the wiring as it comes into the switch (and per the directions given from the harness supplier). Thank you all again; much appreciated!! |

Re: MCORnfused
It appears that you're using the good ole' aftermarket IQ conversion harness that everybody hates. You can save yourself a ton of headache by ordering an OEM harness for a DS IQ. Part number 103689601. It'll plug right into your MCOR, Tow/Run Switch, F&R Switch, and into your 1268 adapter harness that should have come with your 1268 conversion. It's about as painless as it can get.

Re: MCORnfused
Thank you, Dave. I have it all hooked up and zip tied in already, so if I just cut the ends and shrink wrap fittings will I be okay (I really do not want to take it out and send it back)? I realize that I should have ordered everything from you initially, but I was young and foolish (OK-foolish) when i ordered and did not know any better!
If I need to order the OEM harness I will...... PS-I responded to your email; thank you for such a quick reply-you rock!!! |
