The ST carts and some MPTs also have a small factory lift of about two inches, or so. The cart in your photo definitely looks like a TXT. The engines look very similar, so it would be hard to tell which size it is from photos, without looking further into the serial numbers on the engine itself. The deal sounds pretty good to me, would probably bring more than $2000 in my area. Those Robin engines, either the 295 or 350, run well and are dependable.
Thanks! Is the TXT a base model or is it just made for a different application? What's more desirable of the three models?

And here's the MPT/ST front end, they were used on the ST, ST Sport, MPT, Oasis, and Workhorses (as well as several year Cushman Commanders and Jacobsen Haulers) - In this case it's on an MPT

Attachment 117836

There's a chance that the cart was an ST and had the cowl swapped due to damage or ??? (unlikely) or it's has the original 295 replaced with a 350 (not very likely) or its' actually got the EH295c and not the 350 that he is stating.

Either way, good engines. The 350 has an extra 2hp but that's about it - if You can, also look at the trans side of the rear clutch, it'll have either "36" or "28" cast into it - that tells You which clutch it has, either 36 or 28 degree (both good clutches, but the 28 provides almost 30% more applied torque). Even the pre-MCI (2001.5 and down) 295 and 350's are good (some say better than the MCI's because they leave more options for performance mods on the cheap and are just as bulletproof). Either way, I'd take a good solid look at the drivetrain and use that to help You decide, there's a chance the guy really did inherit the thing and knows nothing of what he's describing.

At $2k, with either engine/clutch combo in clean condition, rear seat, etc it's an "average" price for a 2003 so I'd personally keep looking if anything seems hokey with the deal but if the cart looks and runs good it's likely a good find.
Thanks for all that.

What is MCI?

Just to clarify: Is it possible that a 2003 TXT came from the factory with a 350?

He can't show it until Sat or Sun and I work both days, so it might go this weekend. He can show it on Monday and I can look at it then, so we'll see if its around. I'll keep you posted.

MCI was the "redesign" (or second generation, if You will)of the standard 295/350, it entailed a different ignition system, manifolds, carb, and the heads were slightly different (amongst other minor design tweaks) ... Both are great motors, the old style 350's are my personal favorite as a 295 head drops right on and with stiffer springs and some work with the ignition, intake, etc can easily make 15-16hp.

It's *possible* that a standard TXT would have a 350 from the factory, but very unlikely as it would have to be a special-order or purpose cart ... If that one has a 350 I would lean towards it having been swapped - again though that's OK providing everything runs, looks and drives good. Good Luck and I hope it works out for You!
