Helix is stuck on clutch!!!
I have a 98 ez go. I have removed the driven clutch and am trying to switch it to a 28. The problem is the 36 is stuck! Really stuck! I have let it sit w/ PB Blaster for hours, nothing. I beat it with a rubber hammer, nothing. I drilled holes in the side of the old helix and tried a puller, nothing!!! There must be a trick! Someone out there knows what to do...

Re: Helix is stuck on clutch!!!
I used a rubber mallet on mine and it seemed to do the trick. Just make sure it's on a solid surface and it should pop off with a few hits.

Re: Helix is stuck on clutch!!!
A silly question but, did you remove the snap ring from the back of the clutch?

Re: Helix is stuck on clutch!!!
Just to follow up on this... Yes the snap ring was off. It was just seized to the splines! After several cans of PB, I had had it! Got it apart though! If you apply some heat from a heat gun, it will do the trick, or at least it did for me...
