Re: Hesitation on 2 stroke
Well, after running perfect Saturday lunchtime (my son rode it around sub division 4 times), we parked it up. That evening I went to take it for a run and it was running like crap. Heavy smell of gas ! To cut a long story short, crankcase and muffler full of gas but nothing coming out of vent tube on carb. Took spark plug out and cranked it, quite a bit of gas came out of cylinder. Just took carb off and check float yet again. I have lost count how many times I have checked this float over past week. It all seems good
Any ideas how this fuel is entering the crankcase ? Thanks |

Re: Hesitation on 2 stroke
Through a ripped diaphragm in the fuel pump.

Re: Hesitation on 2 stroke
I put a rebuild kit in fuel pump last week. Maybe I'll just order a new pump then and see

Re: Hesitation on 2 stroke
I would open it up to be sure, before ordering a new pump.

Re: Hesitation on 2 stroke
Thanks for getting back. Great help.
I have already ordered one along with the gasket. I spent enough on this thing in the last few weeks trying to pinpoint the problems, I guess another $75 ain't gonna hurt ! Lol You got me thinking after reading that link. The guy mentions 2 one way valves in the pump. I wonder if I put one of them around the wrong way. It just looked like a piece of round fabric type stuff and a gasket. Ummmm, I wonder ! Thanks for the thought |

Re: Hesitation on 2 stroke
Update !!
New fuel pump arrived today from vintage golf carts. Put it on, runs not bad, got some decent speed but under load especially, starts to hesitate again. its not like regular with the revolutions of motor but like ranging from every couple of seconds to maybe 5-10 seconds going up same incline. I'm at my wits end with this. Sick of throwing good money after bad ! Any ideas ? |
