I'd keep my controller turned up on both of them. The more amps the better.

Remember, in a series cart; amps=torque, volts=speed

Tahoe, I was told by Plumquick that the original motor I had in my 92 had a thicker wall than the one I ended up getting from them. Both GE but the lug spacing/location was different. They told me the one they supplied (a newer vintage) was a thin wall and couldn't take the heat as well as the original one. Not questioning your expertise, just saying I understood all GE's weren't the same in that regard.

Either way, with the 23" tires, 500a controller, and terrain I've smelt mine and it got very hot. So in hindsight, I would not use a bandit in my application where there are hills to climb. It's holding up so far but I think sooner or later my Bandit will fry.

PS: Tahoe, what would your recommendation be for an alternative motor?

I think is about what they quoted me for a custom high torque motor.

You are correct. But your 92 didn't have a 3.10hp motor. What I said was that all 3.10hp GE motors were thin wall, not all GE motors. Basically any other motor on the market that I've seen can take more abuse than those thin wall GE motors. They used these thin wall motors for 3.10hp series applications, Regen 1/2, and IQ applications. I personally, like the Admiral motors. I've been using them for a while with pretty good luck.

it was worth it to me in the long run

Nothing saying that you need to do it now , I would run the other til it burned up . I got a good 3 yrs out of my stock motor before it was cooked
