Sounds like you may have dirt in the needle and seat, causing your float bowl to overflow.

That will require a magnifying glass to clean up. Maybe I'll drain the float bowl & get lucky.

I took the carb off today. I removed the needle from the seat, everything appeared clear. I took a wire & pushed it through the jet, some dirt came out there. Blew everything out & reinstalled it to the engine. There is no longer any gas coming from the carb vent. In order for the engine to run, I have to hold my hand over the "cone" obstructing 3/4 from closed. I adjusted the screw out 3 full turns & no change.

Kawasaki FE engines don't run very well (if at all) with an "open" carb!
They need a bit of air/intake "restriction" for proper fuel/air mixture.

Did the cart come with the intake tube, air filter box, and choke button?
If so... hook it all up and give it another try!
If not.... you may want to look into getting the missing intake parts.

I got all of the stuff pictured, just don't have the right sized battery to hook the filter up. Could you share the correct sized battery for the cart please?

On my '87, a group 70 battery fits, but I have a different air intake setup (different motor); so take that with a grain of salt.

Yes, it is a 70 group size battery. Try to resist the 75 group most auto parts stores will try to sell you. Won’t fit yours without some modifications. Same goes for the dual terminal (top & side) versions

I took the carb off again this morning. Cleaned a couple other ports while I was at it. Made a couple gaskets also. Hooked everything & pushed the choke, fired right up. Drove it around this afternoon, it was rough ride. Lol I need to get a couple micro switched, drive belt, & seat yet.
