In fact, I installed a central mirror with an android system to display a dash (my own software). Anyway, after a while, I decided to install a back camera as the feature is on it and I had 2 home I was not using.

Now, true, the screen (5.5) is quite small for it and I cannot say it is useful, except by night where... we really see well

I got a stretch 6 seater so it’ll help backing up to the wall

Didn’t think about it before.... but I replaced the buzzer with a nicer one. I guess I can test the load and maybe place it there possibly.

As I did not like the fact that the buzzer was active even with the key off (anybody passing by and switching the reverse lever would have started it), I use a relay with key switch. At the same time, it permits to use the same buzzer with turn signs when the lever is in forward position...

To answer to your PM, please find below the diagram.

You can leave the buzzer on its actual cables, relays do not take much power. In case you prefer not, you can connect it as the camera...

If there is no need to protect by a fuse the relay control (the buzzer must be protected), BUT you absolutely need to add a fuse on the secondary way (and take the negative from the battery)...

That setup would serve quite nicely, and could also simultaneously power a reverse light if you wanted.

One of the things I’m fuzzy on is what you meant by checking if it’s a 12V+ or 12V- coming off the shifter lever.

Not sure what that means exactly? And how to check it?

I always like to check that the diagram corresponds to the machine I am working on and it was not modified by who knows who... As you wanted to connect from the back switch, yes I would verify the signal out is a positive, just to be sure...

This being said, for a G16-A (attached diagram), instead of working from the back switch (14) as you were planning, you can connect using the buzzer plug (15), easier and cleaner, and you are sure to have a positive (pink) and a negative (black) and they are protected by the original fuse (6) on the negative...
