Default G9 no spark

So where do you start when you have no spark? could it be the coil or ignitor or something else, anybody have a easy way to test these parts?

thanks

So I went through some of the old threads and found this one regarding the ignitor.
can anybody confirm that this is a good replacement for the over priced ignitor from Yamaha?

Yes, that was my thread. I'm still running the $30 ignitor setup and it works great. Not one single problem since I put it in :)

I'm glad to hear it's still working, I remember changing a couple of these in my old Dodge Power wagon, it's nice that the part still has a 1970's price on it.
If I don't locate a OEM ignitor in the near future I'll do your fix.
Thanks

Good luck! I searched for about a month and gave up. Used ones just dont usually popup, but keep an eye on the for sale section here for someone that does a clone swap. But for $30 I couldn't be happier. Plus most stores they carry a lifetime warranty :)

I bought a ignitor off of Amazon for $130. I know there junk but it was a quick fix and I dont have a lot of time to mess with the carts right now.
The new ignitor fixed gave this cart such a boost that I'm considering a lift kit and tires now, with the old ignitor I would have to press the pedal to the floor and let off all the way to the top for the cart to start, it ran but was gutless, it struggled to go up an incline, now with the new ignitor, press the pedal and go, it actually accelerates up the steepest inclines. I'm liking this cart now.

Good luck with that...

I had 3 of those, all 3 failed within a couple days. The longest one I had a solid 1-2 hours of run time on it, next morning i came out and did the same crap. that's when i gave up and went the DIY route. hopefully you'll have better luck than I.

once you get it up and going you'll love it though. I really enjoy mine :)

I'm sure I'll use the mopar ignitor sooner or later but for now it's still running after a week with the aftermarket part.
