Default G14 big oil leak!

Bought a new to me G14 lifted with wheels and tires for what I thought was fair- $2k. Didn't discover the oil leak until we started running it a little more. It appears to me, without taking off the plastic cover off that the head gasket is blown. I'm hoping that it's not something more. You can see oil getting pushing out the bottom of the plastic cover near the left side and the front of the engine.

So I'm planning on buying a new head gasket and going from there. It looks to be like I can take the head out without pulling the engine.

Pointers I'm looking for: should I replace any other parts while I'm in there? What are the chances the head is warped? Would I be better off throwing a refurbed engine in and rebuilding and selling mine?

Guess I'm just looking for encouragement and advice on moving forward.

Best advice is to get the plastic off and give it a good inspection best case scenario is it's leaking from the valve cover if you can't pin point the leak clean it well put it togetherand run it awhile then take the plastic back off and pin point the leak

More likely suspects are the valve cover gasket or the the rocker oiling circuit.

Lol, valve cover gasket. That is probably the source of the leak. Have fun with that baked on gasket, don't let all that scraping crud into the engine. Just telling you now, correctly/fully removing that gasket will get you scraping mad. I pack a paper towel into the entire area inside the rocker arm area to keep crud out.

Awesome. I'll have to dive in and figure out where the oil is coming from.

Well I feel kinda dumb. I got some gasket seal material and tightened up the value cover and the problem is gone! Now I need to clean up the carb, find a gas cap that fits right and adjust the governor down so the kids don't kill themselves. Thanks for the help!
