yamaha G1 brakes,,,??
Hi fellas....now apparently there is a difference between early G1 rear brakes (78 to 82) and the later G1's (82 to 89).
Now my old girl has this weird serial No...J32-010815 (same number on engine)and no where is there any record on this planet that it exists:thumb down: Any one got any ideas of what the they physically look like or can tell them apart?...they are listed with different part numbers.. Griff. |

Re: yamaha G1 brakes,,,??
Does your engine have a vacuum reservoir coming off the carb boot, with the Yamaha name on it? That's the later years ie 82-up. The engine is different for 82 vs 83-up but the brakes shouldn't be.

Re: yamaha G1 brakes,,,??
You're welcome! Also you will need to check the numbers on the engine's jug to see if you have 1982 or 83-89, in the future when you need engine parts.

Re: yamaha G1 brakes,,,??
Look for OE shoes as the aftermarket ones are known to be horrible. Drums im not so sure about. I would think the stock shoes would have some markings to tell what you need but I could be wrong.

Re: yamaha G1 brakes,,,??
Its a company in the Netherlands but I use them all the time for parts look up as I like their format. Harder for you since you don't exactly know the year of your cart. don't know if it would be cheaper to order from the states or not.

Re: yamaha G1 brakes,,,??
Your shoes should be marked but again you have a weird serial number / model number. My 80 marked as J10
