Default 48v Solenoid Sticking Closed

I have a 97 cc ds series that i recently converted from resistor to controller setup. Most of my components including an AXE 4845, WR 586 36v solenoid, pb6, etc came from a site sponsor who is a hell of a good guy! Guess I should have ordered my new solenoid from him but I got impatientAfter running on the 36v setup for the last 6-7 months I decided to convert to 48v, installed t-875's with WR 48v solenoid. I used the same diode and resistor that was on the 36v solenoid, I have run the cart maybe 2 hrs and the solenoid keeps sticking closed, a little tap opens her up but it's getting more frequent...In your opinion is this a solenoid issue or a diode issue? Do I need a heavier diode for the 48v setup? Sorry for the long winded explanation but dont want to waste your time. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You need a 'heavier' diode and resistor for the higher voltage. Hard to say from here but sticky solenoids usually have pitted contact damage and what may have started as a diode and resistor problem may now be a solenoid problem?

The lessons we learn the hard way are NEVER forgotten.

I have an unused, previously installed, Big brown SuperDuty 400/1000 solenoid with resistor and diode for you.
