Re: plum quick on the way
how long has the charger been on?
i personally don't care for the obc bypass like you mention. expected SOC voltage will not match Ah consumed, which i believe, fools the computer into thinking your batteries are in poor shape and in need of excessive conditioning. contrary to intuition, charge time is not always proportional to actual use. occasional boiling of the batteries is normal. -sj |

Re: plum quick on the way
Equalization charge is at the low end, around 3 amps near the end of the charging cycle. Plug the charger in, let it run until it shuts off on its own. If it turns on your wiring is correct. You'll hear some bubbling towards the end and the batteries will be warm as well. Test the voltage and don't panic when you see it reach up to 63 volts showing 3 amps. It should be around 61/62 but mine goes to 63+. I ran my 4 gauge wire through the OBC, (tight fit but it works fine.) Many others here ran the wires like you did without any problems.

Re: plum quick on the way
measure the voltage before unplugging it next time. it can get as high as 63V.
cold batteries take longer to charge. a full charge is always a good idea for batteries exposed to cold. more than 16 hours on or higher than 63V is cause for concern. -sj |
