Wink Presedent

Has anyone ever taken a C/C president and turned it into a series cart using the factory foot switches and wiring but put a new series controller in it with the OBC to charge it. If so please send me a schematic of it. I'm try to help a guy out and he started on it but need's help bad. He doesn't want to start from scratch either. He has already cut all the factory wiring out of it.

You need a SERIES MOTOR, SERIES F&R CONTROL to start with along with a almost complete rewire job?

Yes he has all the parts needed. Just want to know if someone has done it before and has a wiring diagram to make it much quicker to wire it up using what factory wiring we can.
If they do it will make my job a lot easier. I've never done this type of cart before. We have it all striped down.

Thanks this is a going to help a lot.
Does the stock cart run off of OHM's? MCOR signal to the controller is it OHMS?
Do you happen to know which two wireswould be used on a regular serirs cart controller?

looks like a variable ohm out-putter to me

seriously though, hook your meter to the 2 outside posts. this will tell you the value of the pot. ie: 5k, 10k, etc. depending on what the controller wants to see (ie: 0-5k, 5k-0), dictates how it should be connected. (if its backwards, reverse the 2 outer pot wires.)

Question Re: Presedent

That is the same as his. Thanks,
He bought a controller for a club car that has 5-0 Ohm's. I was just wondering which two wires to use since I've never done this conversion before. Thanks for the info and I hope we have it running by Friday!
sonicj,
so don't use the Yellow wire for a 2 wire hookup...correct!

you should need all three wires... what controller are you connecting this to?

the pot acts as a voltage divider. + and - are on the outer 2 pins, the wiper output is on the center pin. if you feed the pot say 5V on the outer two pins, the wiper pin will show 0 to 5V, or 5V to 0V.

if you hook it up and it outputs 0 to 5V and you want it to output 5V to 0V, just switch the outer two wires. make sense?

well i'll be d*****! some controllers do use 2 wire resistive inputs..!

ok, so if the controller wants a 2 wire input, you'll either use purple + yellow, or yellow + white/black. one combo will give you 0 to 5K the other will give 5K to 0. holla!

If I'm not mistaken one of the three wires runs to the B minus ground on controller?
