Re: 2 cycle to 4 cycle shifter conversion
Starting to sound like a back and forth match on who said what... No need in being upset. We are all here to help! I'n order to have a "fully functional" BB/2 stroke conversion, the rear end would also need to be changed to have reverse. If you don't care for the reverse, just install the BB.. Then, no need for shifter swap...

I have located a rear axle. I understood that months back. I'm asking if I can just pull the f/r switch out of my 2 cycle and let's say I found a donor cart that had a handle and cables, will they fit? I'm just curious if it's that easy. After the sour mouth I got a few post up, I'm just going to trial and error it. I'd like to think I'm done asking questions on this board.

Re: 2 cycle to 4 cycle shifter conversion
The f/r switch is an electronic switch with a key. am I correct? I would like to say that it won't work but, I am a Yamaha fan so, maybe one of the other guys will chime in to help! Don't let one guy ruin your time here. I learned that long ago! I was the victim of a gasket blowing off someone else! It's an awesome place at BGW.

Re: 2 cycle to 4 cycle shifter conversion
mop, now i understand better what you want to do.your present shifter will not work, it is more a switch than a shifter. you will need the shifter from a 4 cycle cart or a neat one like the one jake's make. there really are lot pics in the bb forum of how others have done theirs. in fact there a number of marathon conversions there, especially using a clone.
