Any close up pics of the box between the seats? I was going to do the same thing. My baby, I mean cart, shouldn't ever be out in the rain, but may not be avoided at some time. Wasn't quite sure how to build a weatherproof box. Did you cover the back of the speakers in the kick panel? I wanted to mount some there also but want them to stay clean.

here are the only pics i have that are sort of close up pics. I made the box out of mdf and carpeted it with black outdoor carpet. These are 6 &1/2 inch speakers. The easiest way to cut the holes for the speakers are to use a 5 inch hole saw. The speakers are marine grade speakers so they can handle getting wet, etc. Also, the speakers that are in the kick plate do not have anything enclosing them. The only thing I would probably advise you do to which is something I am going to do soon is to place dynamat behind the speakers because the large magnets on the speakers can drain the batteries if they are close to them. I researched a lot of speakers and these are the shallowest depth installed speakers you basically can get. I was amazed at their quality of sound. i went with shallow depth speakers so that I could keep the magnets on the speakers as far away as I could from the batteries and other internal hardware.
