Default What did i burn up?

Hi i just finnished rewiring my 88 ds and i put a1 on s1 and s1 on a1.Went great in forward went to hit reverse and pow! Started burning my negative battery terminal.Took it out of reverse ok.Found my mistake and corrected it now no reverse.Any help would be great.PS soliniod clicks in reverse just no go.

Motor, controller or both is my guess.

It doesnt have a control box per say.

Oh yea, you are right your probably does not have a controller, just saw the age of cart.

could i have shorted out the forward/reverse switch? I hope its not the motor!

There is a continuity check you can do on the motor, do a search as it has been explained multiple times on this forum. But rereading I am not sure I understand, is it only reverse that is not working and it goes in forward? If so I would think the motor is fine.

You should definitely go through all your wiring as you could have fried a connection somewhere.

That is correct i have forward.Ok i will go thru it again thanks for your help.
