Default Is my cart 48v or 36v?

This is not the usual question where I just count battery cells...

My parents think some jerko in the neighborhood took their newer batteries and dropped his old 2004's in their cart so they wouldn't notice them gone.

The batteries he left are 8V = 48v system BUT before I buy NEW batteries, I want to confirm that it truly is the correct voltage and not a 36v!?!?

It's a 1998 Club Car and the serial# starts with a single A. Anyone know if it's 48v for sure??

Simple. The charger port was round on all 48v carts and the plug was 3 prong
