Club Car Precedent Throttle Voltage

Hey Guys

We have a 2009 Precedent we have just put back together, everything went just as normal until we went to test drive it.

We hooked up our hand held Curtis scanning tool and the throttle voltage reads 42% without the pedal being depressed.

When the pedal is depressed it goes up to 100% but then settles back down at 42%.

We grabbed a different pedal assembly from a 2007 Precedent that we had readily available and hooked it up with the exact same 42% throttle voltage reading.

I know someone on here knows what the problem is, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the car an IQ or Excel? (Curtis 1510 vs Curtis 1515 controller)

It's a Ph serial so should be an excel.

Looks like I might have answered my own question we just pulled the controller out of this cart and it is a 1510.

So I am thinking that one of the fellas here installed the 1510 onto the excel metal plate and OBC.

Would this cause the problem?

The ph takes the grey 1515 controller. The 1510 might make the cart move but the throttle will be very erratic. If it was the proper controller and you were seeing that problem the mcor would be the first thing I would suggest to look at.

Well that makes perfect sense as to why I am seeing 42% on the scanner. Also once in a blue moon it will go in reverse when we are testing it here.

We usually find the problem with the MCOR as well, but with putting two different pedal assemblies on and both reading 42% it has to the the controller.

No problem...if you need a 1515 drop me a line cause I have a couple on the shelf. I tried a 1510 in a 2010 excel and the throttle would jump from 0-85% from a dead stop causing a bucking cart.

What else could cause this issue? We put the proper controller in and still the same issue!

We know both pedal groups work as they came out of two running carts? So I think that eliminates the MCOR as a problem.

What else would be different between the Excel and the IQ, the wiring harnesses look the same as far as we can see.

Got it working! Installed an IQ harness and works like a dream!
