2002 series 48v resistor or what ever it is
Yikes....charging my cart and come out to see the resistor thingy burned up.....What happened

Understand...is that the only thing burned up? That's like a check valve for electricity and the solenoid can be run without it BUT in your case there has to be a reason for it burning. Are there any obvious signs like loose wires or anything that could have touched that area?

No nothing touched there....been charging for a couple hrs....wasn't running to start with so decided to charge things up befor trying to see whats wrong....Man looks like my camera is taking a hit allso...Looks like i allso need a diode from the picture

Well something definatly happened .....found the diode is still there...only the resistor fried today when charging.......hooked the bats back up and jumped the solonoid terminals...or i should say tried too.....dead short.....nothing turned on (key)

Remove the M- cable from the controller and see if the short still exists?
