Friend Towed 04' Precedent In "RUN"
Friend towed 2004 Precedent in "RUN" fried motor, but when i first looked at it selenoid was still clicking so i thought there might be hope for the controller. So I found him a rebuilt motor and installed. Hooked everything back up and nothing. I did notice that with battery pack connected the "pre-charge resistor" on the selenoid started getting hot. Is that any indication that the controller is in fact bad?

If the cart was towed in run for any sort of distance the controller is blown.
It wil still engage the solenoid sometimes but wont run the cart. Also id the pre charge resistor is getting hot or blackening its another tell tale sign the controller is blown. |

Appreciate the confirmation I figured as much I just wanted a second opinion.
Can any one suggest the most inexpensive place to get a replacement Controller. And will i need to replace the selenoid or anything else along the way? Thanks for all of your input. |

Resister could also be getting hot because solenoid may be clicking but no contact. All the current is trying to go through it.. Before I bought a new controller I would try a solenoid first or with the cart in the air try jumpering the main lugs on the sol to see what happens.
I had a friend do the same to an EZ-Go. Melted the sol and resister but replaced those and all was well.. |

FSIP sometimes has remanufactured controllers that are inexpensive. Or you could pick up an alltrax for a little over $300 and gain some extra amps while your at it.
