Will resetting OBC wipe out my speed code 4?
2008 cc precedent iq
I just want to confirm that resetting the obc WILL NOT wipe out my speed code 4? My local club car dealer said he doesn't believe it will. He was a sales guy. Found a thread on here that said it will not wipe out any speed code. can someone just confirm this for me before i do it. Thanks guys |

Re: Will resetting OBC wipe out my speed code 4?
. . . I have not heard of anyone complain that after resetting their OBC that it cleared out the speed code . . . it that were the case, everyone would have had their speed codes erased, including the code 3, 2 or 1's . . . .

Definitely wont wipe the code. You have to manually go into the controller and erase it with iqdm handheld.

Ok.. Does replacing the OBC clear out any codes? I had the CC dealer tell me yes and a golf cart service garage tell me no? I may need to replace the obc due to a charging problem, however i don't know for sure what the problem is. Just thinking ahead a little. I have speed code 4.

Re: Will resetting OBC wipe out my speed code 4?
. . . the speed code is built based on the serial number of the cart and the serial number of the controller and programmed into the controller . . . replacing the OBC should not come into play or have any effect on the speed code . . .

Yes as Steve said OBC job is only to monitor charging of cart... It has no effect on any controller settings. You can remove the controller from cart and put it into another and it will still continue to run off of speed code 4.
