The best way is a 48v to 12v reducer

I'm installing a radio today and have a question too, if i plug it directly to the battery, then how do i turn it off if using the on/off button the sound turns off but the actual radio stays on using power. Is it possible to connect it to the on/off switch so that when i turn the key off it kills the radio. Thank you.
