Default 2006 Club Car Battery life Question

I have a 2006 Club Car Precedent with 2008 Batteries.

I have volt meter which shows the batteries are fully charged. However, the cart seems to be moving slower overall.

Is there a way to tell how much life there is left before these batteries go completely dead?

Even with a full charge, I can tell the cart is not the same.

Please let me know. Thanks.

Default Re: 2006 Club Car Battery life Question

I have the same cart and had the same year batteries. I just replaced them this week as I was having similar symptoms last summer and they finally died last fall. It has been posted here that if you get 5 years out of the 12v batteries, you are doing good, sometimes 4. Much of that is determined by if and how you break them in and then manage and care for them after that. I bought my cart in 2010 and it was a golf course retiree. So I have no idea of the history of the batteries. I am taking the time to break in my new ones properly and will make sure I take care if them.

What you are noticing is normal but there is no way to predict how much longer they will last, precisely. You will just notice a gradual weakening and shorter run times between charging and probably extended charge times. You will probably also notice some batteries boiling over a little bit because they are having to overcharge waiting for the weaker batteries to get to full charge.
