Granted, it is a bit of a hassle, but you can take the controller out of the cart and power it up next to your desktop.

yup - more of a hassle for the ole AXE/ DCX generation than the new SPM.
I still keep a 5v lipo with alligator clips on the shelf for programming them (an improvement over the lawnmower battery and jumpers that used to sit under my desk.) lol
DCX is best with a harness adapter or make ur own rig to supply the 4 + leads.

Nice diagram JohhnieB - but Alltrax forgot the option where you use 12 AA batteries connected butt to head to make 18 volt...

I actually traded my abacas in for a laptop a few years back, just need to order a cable and I should be all set. Thanks for all the great advise and comedy
