OK, good. I would first make sure that all external connections to the solenoids are clean and tight. If it still won't turn over, you'll have to clean the contacts inside.

If you want to try to clean the contacts, do this.

1. DISCONNECT THE BATTERY.

2. You can leave the all the cables connected to the solenoid terminals.

3. Remove the 4 bolts holding the front, black housing to the solenoid body. You may have to un-mount the solenoid from the fender well.

4. Pull the front housing out of the body to expose the contacts.

5. If the contacts are still in useable condition, use 220 grit sandpaper to clean up the contact sets. Spray the grit out of the contact area.

6. Reassemble the solenoid.

7. Re-connect the battery.
Remember to mark all wires if you have to disconnect them. I usually take alot of pictures.

success....I took the solenoid apart today. cleaned every piece of metal inside, the bolt I twisted off was just that...a bolt....I went over to my metric stock of bolts and had them right there. took the twisted out and put a brand new one back in. with all new nuts put it all back together. turn the key in reverse and presto....it worked. put the key in forward and the same. Im super happy now. all it took was a good nites sleep to calm me down about twisting it off. thanks for all the help on it.

now onto the next problem......removing the electric fuel pump some idiot put on here.

Well I do have a question. are the sock pumps a special pump? I have several pumps off of riding lawn mowers that are the same kind. One of them should work right? thanks

I can't remember for sure since it's been so long since I've messed with a G1. I quickly swapped out the original pump for a high volume model. I don't remember having to do anything special on that cart. Do you have a pic?
