Mine is locked up unfortunately. What is the difficulty level or rebuilding the motor?

Re: G2/G9 motor rebuild difficulty
Very easy if you are familiar with this sort of thing. Buy, or download a bootleg service manual, it will be VERY handy...

Re: G2/G9 motor rebuild difficulty
The disassembly will be the hardest part depending on why it's locked up. Then figuring out what all may need replaced will need to be figured out. Probably need some machining as well. I'd find someone that has done some mechanicing work too help give you a hand.
+1 on getting a repair manual. It will do wonders if your not really sure what your doing. |

Re: G2/G9 motor rebuild difficulty
From 1 to 10..... 1=no experience and 10=mechanic..... I'd give it a 5-6. If you have small engine experience it will be fairly easy. If you don't have any experience, it, as with any engine work, will require lots of reading and tools. It's hard for us to judge your experience level, but for me this kind of thing is pretty easy. The engine's are easy to remove, very high quality parts, should disassemble in a day. Inspect, order parts day two. Wait a week for parts. Reassemble in a day.

Re: G2/G9 motor rebuild difficulty
I wouldn't waste the money on a rebuild Either go to harbor freight and pick up a Predator 420cc or Call Geoff At Vegas Carts and get one of his 440's and a engine crate the cradle from him is a direct bolt in and runs 99$ very thick steel I might add.
