Default Choke it

Just bought 91 G9 and cleaning it up. Air filter had a foam outer that was oil saturated and crumbing, it fell apart in my hand. The paper filter was just as bad. I cleaned the paper and put it back together with no foam. Now it won't run unless I pull the choke out. Have tried to adjust carb but I'm at 2 1/2 turns out with the jet and it still is a problem.

The yamaha's have to have a good filter and the air box needs to be sealed or the cart wont run right, the top of the air box should have a rubber gasket in it to seal the air box, are the rubber straps that hold the air box shut in good condition

The seal looks like it could be replaced, one of the straps(inside front) has become hard and does not want to stretch so I replaced it with a felcrow strap. Those things should not have changed. Where can I get the parts? Link to Yamaha from this site runs to dead end.

To add to Rib's post.. it is critical the air box seal correctly or it won't run right. You can check site sponsor's, but you may need to get some replacement parts from a Yamaha dealer or do a web search for these part numbers. I can almost invision the air box lid is warped now and should be replaced. Lid #J38-14412-02-00/lid seal #50M-14462-01-00 and the straps #J10-14436-00-00. The air box bottom also must have all the strap tangs and no holes in it. Good luck
