Does it have anything to do with timing?
The small black wire on the starter ground should be feeding a fuse that feeds the ground for the backup buzzer, the CDI, the regulator, and the starter solenoid.

Ya know, it could! Mine will hit about every third to fifth cycle when that wire is disconnected!!

Bet it goes to the igniter!!

G16 on, don't have that wire, cause they have a different ignition.

Man Don, your smart!!

Doing some more searching here I see more people with the same symptoms and its the ground wire. I'm going to check that in the morning, hope thats the culprit.

Me too. I'll learn something new if that is the culprit. Keep us posted please.

Well, if its the wire that connects to the ground lug on the starter generator, that is conneted and grounded fine. It goes up to a fuse that is mounted right next to the back up alarm. What are the wires going under the motor? Im thinking a oil pressure switch. Looks like a ton of unessesary wiring for a simple press the pedal and go motor.

That is low oil sensor

Then I wonder if you have igniter issues

Took the whole body off of it today so I could see better. If I just hold the pedal to where it would just crank I will sit and run at low idle. I can roll the throttle very slowly and it will run rough. If I roll it to full throttle it will cut right off. Im thinking coil, wish I had one laying around to try.

Ya know, just thinking about this, if you or anybody else added lights, a radio or any other accessory to your car, and didn't ground back to the battery, that could be causing this!!
