Received my new carb today, now if the seals would show up I could put this thing back together!

Default Re: OK Now to reassemble!

Finally got the last of the parts, the seals (thanks post office for taking a week!)

The only thing worrying me is any adjustments to be made to the carb, looks like only 2 adjustments on the carb, one out the side of the throttle body, downstream of the throttle plate, and one vertical in the middle just below the idle stop screw.

Any advice? I'm never comfortable adjusting carbs......

Smile Re: IT'S ALIVE!

Got her all reassembled, fresh gas and plug, filled the carb bowl via the vent/overflow, hit the pedal and it fired right up! Runs very smooth sounds good, too late tonight to drive it so that will wait till tomorrow.

Where is this black and white wire that will allow it to idle?

one of the knuckles broke on a push rod. so the exhaust flap is not hooked up, how bad does it hurt me if I just wire it open?

Mine is wired open and works well. The G1 doesn't idle, it is either going in forward or reverse. No way for it to just "run" in a neutral position.

Talking Re: BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS!

Tonight was our first big proving runs-after charging the battery for an hour, new battery is needed, but at least I know the charging system is putting out well. per my multi meter

Anyway, the test runs were a huge success, me, the wife, the 19 yo son and 16 yo daughter all took it for laps around the block, drove it several miles in total, no issues! And the phone GPS says we got up to 24 mph on flat street! That is stock, governor untouched, only thing non factory if the exhaust flap is wired open

I am a little paranoid that it will be too lean-an irrational fear from back when I melted down a jet ski, how can I tell if it's lean or rich? I put the mixture screw all the way in then backed out 1 1/2 turns, seems to run good, no stumbles, backfires or anything.

spark plug will tell you if its lean or rich. so once you drive it around a bit, pull the plug and go from there.

Default Re: Status Report after first weekend of hard use

Well the old cart has been run long and hard this weekend by teenagers and the wife and I. It got pushed home several times for mystery reasons, seems we have lots of little gremlins to find and resolve, all electrical so far. The hot lead to the coil failed, the main positive wire (not to the starter) seems to have given up the ghost, spliced it back fresh with new wire and the cart fired right up.

All an all I'm very impressed with my old cart, not bad for under 500.00 invested so far. Now to do something about those seats!

I bought some nice fold down boat seats that last a really long time and they have some nice color combo's.

All you have to do is disconnect the black and white wire back by the reverse wire on the pasenger side rear fender well. Mine idles perfectly in forward and reverse. It is a safety device so do this at your own risk. You can find threads about it. I personally like it for when I get off to unhook the garbage can etc. Kinda feels more car like.
