Default Club car not generating power GAS

I have a mid 90's gas club car, I just changed the starter because the old one wasn't charging the battery, the new one also isn't charging the battery, is there some way I can bypass the voltage regulator or test it to see if that is the problem?

This is a post I found using the search option at the top of the page. A very helpful tool.

Qoute from Phasetim:
If I remember correctly: Disconnect yellow wire from the regulator, test voltage from yellow post as + and then to ground. You should be getting up near 15-17 volts... If not, replace starter/generator. If you are getting voltage, replug voltage regulator, then test voltage on batteries, it should be closer to 14vlts.

If not, check micro switches near the regulator (I'm pretty sure one of those activates regulator) If they are good replace regulator..

The starter can work just fine, but not charge your batteries, and you will still need to replace it... ..

I seem to be having the same problem with my 94 gas Club Car.I can run the cart for 2 weeks before having to charge the battery.I hooked up a VOM and and can see that the voltage drop when I start the engine, with the voltage staying constant, and not raising as i increase speed.I will be looking forward to your solution.
