Curtis 1268 - HPD Fault

2009 club car precedent (Serial no. PH09****). picked up Curtis 1268 controller from FSIP, and installed PQ Executioner motor. The controller came with it's own harness to plug in to stock cart harness.

Cart won't run, and programmer shows fault: HPD
Monitor showing Speed Input = 1.2
Monitor showing Throttle = 56

I swapped out MCOR to see if is the issue, but it is not. I have to believe the THROTTLE being already at 56% has to be a clue for the fault that's being thrown.

Resting throttle voltage is 2.5, and full pedal measuring 4.8 volts as measured at J1-15 pin. This just seems wrong.

Anyone got any ideas?

This sounds a lot like the Alltrax. I'm guessing you got the HPD because you got the throttle wedged down for testing. Then you turned the key on. Then you get HPD fault. You might have to turn key on first.

2009 Excel you may have a TPS converted to MCOR, there are some resistors inside the converter harness box. The resistors have been reported to fail.
Measure the resistance between the mcor wires from the controller 16 pin plug to the MCOR 3 pin plug. You should have about 453 ohms.

Edit: Looking at the picture in stickies , you can just measure right at the MCOR to Adapter connection.

The wires have just been tested, and the resistors seem ok. All three tested between 448 and 450.

I assume you ran the new negative to the speed sensor.

Are you using the yellow - black wire in the dash for a battery meter?

Those could cause errors in the Throttle signal.

Yes, the new negative was ran to the speed sensor. And I am gonna go check the battery meter.

Yes, the black and Yellow wire was used for the battery meter. Ideas for another ground for the meter?

So, I have disconnected the battery meter, and the throttle immediately went down to seven. Adjusted throttle zero values. It now shows a range from zero to ninety nine when pedal pushed. Thank you!

You should have a black negative wire straight from B- at 12 pin connector from the bucket harness.

Thanks Sergio, you were a lifesaver! The controller manual did state that all accessories needed the grounds to be isolated. We did that with the Lighting as well as the OBC. Just kinda forgot about the battery meter.
