filling rear end lube after lift
I know I have to make some changes to how I fill/measure the engine oil after the lift but is there a different procedure for the rear end after the lift? The rear end looks slightly rotated so the check level screw may be lower. Any comments or suggestions?
What is the process if I want to switch to synthetic? |

Re: filling rear end lube after lift
The lift will have no real effect on the oil level in the rear end.
There is a drain bolt in the rear, just drain and replace. |

Re: filling rear end lube after lift
Did a search and didn't come up with a clear cut answer. Manual calls for SAE30 oil in the rear end. Has anyone tried synthetic oil? what was you results?

Re: filling rear end lube after lift
Yes, I have. The result is the cart runs forward and backward like it did before. I believe synthetic offers better protection than dino oil... BUT.... The engineers at Ezgo seem to think you should run 30w non-detergent oil. There are very valid reasons to use the 30w non-detergent oil (such as it's design to trap metal particals in sludge in the bottom of the case) and the performance gains from using synthetics will be minimium. It's not like these carts are used for drag racing where a thousand of a second gain in the 0 to 20 mph time will make a whole he11 of a lot of difference.
