Default 60 AH battery distance?

I have a 1980 Cub Car with 36v motor. I am looking at using Lithium batteries, about 42v with 60ah. Wheels will be 10" low profile. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about what kind of range I would get.

Thanks

Scott

Range is one of the bugaboos that people talk about around here. Every cart is different.

Your cart was a resistor cart from the factory, has it been upgraded to a solid state controller? The solid state controller is far more efficient. Also check your brakes for drag and your alignment (unless your cart is a 3 wheeler).

42V will give you some extra speed vs your 36v pack. But any claim to distance is just a best guess. If you look at 100ah packs people seem to get anywhere from 18 to 45 miles. Based on that, I'd guess a 60ah pack would get anywhere from 11 to 27 miles. If you still have resistor coils I'd guess the range to be in the 5 to 12 mile mark.

The cart you have is actually a 5 solenoid setup, so you won’t get much if any range with it especially hills.
