Series Controller Question

Is an Alltrax SR500 better than a Navitas 600 amp?

Which one would pair better with my AMD Beast motor?

i myself would use an FSIP 700 amp controller . Straight up plug and play ,no field maps , no laptops, and adjust with a tiny screwdriver .

It seems most people (at least in the EZGO part of the forum) use Alltrax. From your signature it appears you allready have the Alltrax. Are you experiencing issues or just looking for more torque/Speed?

No issues. I have a buddy who is selling his cart and he has the navitas laying around. He never installed it.

Yeah, I already got the alltrax. My buddy had the navitas NIB.

I know the alltrax peaks at 575 amps, not sure the rating or duty cycle on the navitas. Is the 600 amp peak or continuous? Their data sheet is very lacking

I've heard Navitas measures their amp ratings rather liberally. I can't say what the duty cycle is but the stock RXV AC controller supposedly can be programmed to be better than the Navitas. But that doesn't help you with a series motor question.

Most people when they upgrade to a Navitas controller it is for their AC system. So if you are looking to upgrade the motor and controller to an AC system then it is a completely different beast than staying with the series motor and the upgraded Alltrax.

If it were me and I wanted better performance and a buddy was willing to sell me a Navitas AC system at a discounted price it'd be hard to pass up. But I wouldn't switch to the Navitas if it was still going to be paired with a series motor.

Thanks, I’m strictly series. I bought the controller but I decided I’m not gonna use it lol, guess I’ll sell it, kinda stuck with it now lol
