Governor and Speed Question
I have screwed my 10MM nut all the way in and the cart is running about 18MPH. As long as the governor is still attached do I need to worry about over rev? I have a 2005 G22 Yamaha.

Re: Governor and Speed Question
If you are satisfied with 18 mph and your governor is functioning you will be fine.

Re: Governor and Speed Question
I would really like 25 to 30, but I am afraid my kids will blow the engine by not letting off. Thanks for the feedback.

Re: Governor and Speed Question
I got the nut almost all the way down, with the "speed spring" on the governor, and the torque spring on the rear clutch.... and with 22" tires, I am getting 23-24 on radar, with 2 peoples.... and really, with stock width, it sacres the crap out of me sometimes...LOL!

Re: Governor and Speed Question
I had a 99 G16 that would run 30+ all day with the governor completely bypassed. It sounded like it was going to blow up somedays but never had a problem at all. I did keep the oil changed regularly and used Mobil 1 syn. I don't recommend doing this if kids will be driving the cart. Too dangerous!
