Pat
I am assuming you installed a new controller with this, if so which one did you install? |

Ready? What's a controller? Are you talking about the speed control assembly that the solenoid's mounted to? Beyond that, you lost me. |

Re: Need help with new solenoid
OK, when you changed your system from 36v to 48v what did you do just buy the solenoid? As far as I know most stock controllers will not accept 48v. NOW I could be wrong......

In 2003 the previous owner changed the motor. Stepped up from 2.5 HP to 5.5 HP and from 36 volt to 48 volt system. He left the rest of the stuff as it was. It's equipped with original Forward & Reverse assembly, original 36 volt solenoid and original speed control assembly. A few days ago, I replaced the original resistor because the phenolic board fell apart from severe corrosion. He had driven the cart with the battery cell caps OFF!!!!! Battery acid spilled I MEAN EVERYWHERE! So, I'm essentially putting things right one at a time with no prior experience. Any help you can give is very much appreciated. |

Re: Need help with new solenoid
Hi Pat,
Mark thinks you have a controller cart, but from your first post you have a 84 Resistor cart. I think he/she I am assuming Mark is a he, thought you had a controller cart. I have an 88 and just replaced my coils and boards too. I have some question unrelated to this post and will PM you later. Look forward to hearing how the install went. aloha joe |
