Default Charging Problems

OK. I have only had the cart (2003 EZ GO TXT Freedom) for a little over a week and aside from the driver side lean we are very satisfied with things. We put it on the charger every night and have not had any issues until, yesterday.

Very heavy rains for almost 8 hours and the cart was driven, slowly, to get back to our place. It ran (and runs) fine and we parked it under our awning. Last night after the rain slowed I went to plug it in and the charger did nothing. The outlet is fine and runs other appliances but the charger does nothing. I tried again this morning and still...nothing. I can't help but think that the heavy rains had something to do with this but I am not sure what to look for. I have limited equipment (I am wintering away from home and have no digimeter and few tools) but want to check whatever I can. The charger is stored under my RV but I'm sure that it got wet yesterday. The cart also got wet, though it has a cover so water would have mostly been in contact from underneath when I was driving back home in the rain.

Any thoughts? Just wondering if maybe drying out the charger would help and I had also heard of a reed switch in the cart receptacle but not sure what to look for in either case.

Thanks in advance gang.

Are you at a campground? If so, see if anyone else there may have a charger you can borrow and see if it charges your cart. this way you would know for sure if it's the charger or your cart.
