Default Re: How old are my Crown CR-235 batteries?

Looks like my batteries were manufactured in March of 2013 (C3).

Somewhat disappointed that the seller told me the batteries were installed (new) the summer of 2015. When I asked him, he said, "That's what they guy who sold me the cart told me ... sorry."

Would batteries sit around for 2 years before being sold and installed? If so, can I still expect the normal lifespan out of them?

I did a full charge and checked the voltage ~24 hours later -- 36.3v, which appears to be "full".

We hear this type of story all the time, but I'm sorry to say that 36.3 volts (?) is DEAD as that's only 50 % state of charge though.... Should be more like 38.2 volts...

Wet batteries are NOT normally be allowed to sit around for long at all. Seems I've heard they try to keep stock to under 90 days but I can't swear to it...

Very common for sellers to lie about the batteries. Around here "2 year old" batteries is code for "really much older and on their last legs". In their defense some people really don't know exactly. " it seems like I just put those batteries in. how could it have been 4 years ago". You know the drill: "seems like we just had Christmas. here it is again"

Note the chart. This is open circuit voltage. Not under load

BTW If they had been maintained, your batteries could have gone another 3 years.
