Default Electric EZGO RXV won't move on it's own

I have an electric EZGO RXV and installed a light kit for it and now the cart won't move on it's own. The solenoid clicks 4-5 times when key is turned from off to forward (or reverse) then I press the gas and nothing.....

All I did is install a voltage reducer from the battery and then to the headlights and taillights. So I was only adding not modifying or splicing. Also, it has a fuse that I can remove to delete what I've done but still doesn't work. I've replaced the solenoid and ignition for good measure. There is a kill switch/diagnostic connector under cupholder that I've checked continuity on. Batteries test good + drove it the day before.

Any ideas?

That probably isn't the solenoid making all that clicking noise, the RXV will do a POST (Power On Self Test) to check everything and it makes a few clicks.

I do hope you put the car in TOW before doing any work, especially the solenoid and key switch.

Never tap into the small wires on the solenoid, never touch the keyswitch when adding accessories.

To original poster. In detail, please explain what wires did you add and where did you connect them? Mainly interested in DC Converter power & input wires, and any grounds.

The voltage reducer has a positive (with in line fuse) and negative. I hooked them to the start and end of the battery series (reads 50v) and that to the light kit harness that has it's own on/off switch (separate of the key switch).

I will be near it in a few hours and can provide any pictures if that helps.

Any time you disconnect or reconnect battery pack wires on an RXV, the tow switch should be in tow mode and the keyswitch should be turned off. You may have glitched the memory of your controller. What year RXV is it and where are you located? Post a picture of the controller, there were 2 different brands of controllers used in the RXVs.

Looks like a Danaher controller from here Bob.

It sure does, was hard to see because the controller is covered with grime and the picture was small on my screen, No enlarge option for some reason.

It cannot be the keyswitch fuse because it's powering the solenoid and doing the twist test (clicking he reported). Something is failing the powerup test, and without an early RXV diagnostic handset it'll be "fun" to track down. I'm still leaning towards a glitch in the controller memory from removing the battery terminal nuts to attach the lighting wires. It makes the most sense based on his description of what was done. I would not even attempt a reflash on a Danaher controller.

Sorry, it's a high quality photo that gets downgraded when uploaded (I guess) it says "ACD motor controller" on the side.

I think it says ACO and either way that's a Danahar, aka 2008-2010 (11?) RXV.
