It is a new motor from Nivel. Redhawk was out of stock of the Admiral.

I will go out and double check all connections and also I am pretty sure the "excessive" heat is only in one direction, but will confirm and also note which cables.

In reverse no cables seem to be getting even warm to the touch.

In forward............A2 on controller to motor gets very hot and M- to top of F&R gets warm.

Other cables are normal to the touch.

I'm at a complete loss. The current is the same in each conductor, regardless of direction, for a series circuit. The only way I can imagine conductors getting hot only in one direction is a bad FNR, and that doesn't explain motor conductors.

Sorry

markm you must be a dealer with RedHawk to get parts. You got a lot of carts you fix. I guess you repair carts?

JohnnieB reverse seems to be moving pretty good on the jack stands and doesn't appear to be half speed, but I haven't driven it off the stands.

Rib33024 yes I am a shop that does repairs and a Redhawk dealer.

Did you try the following:
Post #2. You can reverse any two cables at the motor or FNR.
Post #15. Try jumping the 1/2 speed reverse. The controller doesn't know or care whether it's F or R. For that matter, neither do the FNR or motor.
