![]() Hi-
My battery's died and I cannot revive them and need to replace. I have 6 - 8V Deep Cycle 155 amp batteries from US Battery Manufacturing Co. Can I use other types of batteries? What have you found to be the most cost effective? and can I switch to Lithium? New at this.. Thanks!! |

![]() A battery is a battery, for the most part. A cart just needs the voltage and whatever physically fits.
The "right" battery is what gets you the performance you want and the price you can afford. If just going to the store and back and able to recharge every night then you're a candidate for the lowest amp hour and price available. If you plan on longer trips with maybe less recharging, or want more power more often then the amp hours and price goes up like a graph curve from there. Eight 6 volt will provide more power then six 8 volt, because you have more "lead and liquid real estate" to pull from, but you have to have room for them. Lithium has greatly decreased in price the past two years, has great power transfer, but the downside is that is isn't very forgiving is you tend to be one of those who forget to recharge often. Doesn't give you the exact answer to your question, just a little to think about and then ask more questions, but that's what everyone is here for. |

![]() What have you done to recharge the batteries? Most battery chargers will not turn on if the batteries go below a set voltage. On mine with 8 6volt batteries I had to charge them in pairs with a car charger to get them up to a point that the factory charger would turn on.
