Weird Club Car Problem
I have a 2010 Electric 48v CC Precedent. The problem I am experiencing has got me perplexed. When I charge my cart or flip the tow/run switch my engine braking goes away and my cart only runs at about 5 to 7 mph which in my mind indicates a bad speed sensor; however, I just replaced it. Now, with my cart in this sort of limp mode I can flip the tow/run switch a few times, turn the cart on and off with the key a few times and flip the F/R switch a few times then like a miracle my engine braking is back and my cart runs full speed. Very perplexing, to me anyways. Additionally, today I noticed that with the cart running full speed it started to sputter or get a little jerky. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Weird Club Car Problem
I think you have a speed sensor in the process of failing. Toggling the switch between tow and run has no effect on it. It's purely coincidental

Re: Weird Club Car Problem
When you replaced the sensor did you replace the magnet also? Just read a simular case where the magnet was cracked...very hard to see...but created the same issues.

Re: Weird Club Car Problem
I would get it in a half speed situation and check the controllers output to the speed sensor it should be 15 V DC. Maybe pull the 20 pin connector out of the controller and check for bad or crusty connection.

David...This is the second speed sensor that I have put on it and magnet too. I have checked all connections and they are tight. Do you think it could be anything else? I have googled until I am blue in the face

Re: Weird Club Car Problem
greg g...I will check that today. I am ready to figure this thing out because it is driving me crazy. This morning me and my daughter were riding on it and she accidentally put it in neutral while in motion and when I put it back in F we were back to half speed!

Re: Weird Club Car Problem
Cracks in the magnet will not cause it to fail unless if actually falls apart.
