Default 2008 club car precedent cutting out while driving

I have tried the speed sensor test and my cart does beep and I feel resistance. Today the cart worked fine for about 2 minutes at normal speed so I though taking some things apart and putting them back together worked but then at full speed it started to cut out again, but would continue to get back up to full speed. Over the weekend I could not hit full speed no matter what I did. Not sure what part I need at this point ?

I agree about the pack voltage. If it is good, then I will go with this; I had a friend with a similar problem. As it turned out, the speed magnet was broken into 4 pieces still clinging to the screw holding it in. Replaced the magnet and good to go. It took a while to find that because the push test showed that the speed sensor was good. You didn't say what you took apart and put back together. I hope you find that it is that simple.

PS - Then of course, there is Scotty's favorite topic as a possibility, MCOR

Thanks....

It's a 48V and the batteries are only two years old. I checked the water level because I had let them get low that last year when I first bought the cart last year and it acted up.

I took the Mcor off and the speed sensor off. I cleaned them both and re-installed them after reading some other threads hoping it was that easy. I drove it and it seemed great at first. But then starting acting up again. Ok...I will google where to find the magnet and check that out.

The magnet is under the speed-sensor and spins when the armature in the motor turns. It can be difficult to remove but be sure you order a High-Speed Magnet and order it from one of the sponsors ScottyB or David to get a quality replacement and then when you have one in your hand we can give you the best way to get the old one out.😎

I probably should have just performed the check before responding last but I took sensor off and took magnet out....everything looks perfect. Ugh

Just because they "look" ok. doesn't mean the speed sensor is good...

And same thing applies for the MCOR. I beleive one of the stickys will help you test for the correct operation of the MCOR.

What exactly to You mean by "cutting out"?

If the power cuts off and You need to release the pedal in order to go again, it eliminates the speed sensor since it cannot cause that problem.

If the power gets reduced but the cart continues to run, it eliminates both the batteries and the MCOR micro-switch since neither can cause that problem.
