Re: 2001 CC DS MCOR or VGlide
Sergio,
Thank you, that gives me plenty of things to test. Your knowledge of all of these different drive system variations is incredible, I will let you know what I find. George |

Re: 2001 CC DS MCOR or VGlide
Sergio,
You are the man with the plan. I bypassed the OBC, and the car runs fine. Disconnected the speed sensor and the region braking is shut off so all that is good. Tested the charger, getting close to pack voltage back to the relay small connector wires. Relay does click, but won't charge. Checked Circuit breaker and it is good. Checked both fuses are good. Any other tests I can do for charger? Thank you, George |

Re: 2001 CC DS MCOR or VGlide
Good news on the cart running
If by some small miracle the OBC charging circuit is functioning, You can try bypassing only the lockout (cart power in this case) circuit. Cut the Blue wire near the OBC body and tape the small piece that goes into the OBC. Cut the White wire about half way between the 6-pin connector and the OBC body. Connect all three wires together: the blue going to the connector and both white wires. That will keep the power by-pass but still provide the Tow/Run circuit to the OBC. |

Sergio,
The owner wants to go ahead and replace the OBC. I did explain the Smart Charger option, since his charger is also currently not working. I am currently doing more testing on his charger and hopefully will know soon what it's problem is. Thank you again, George |

Could it be something with the charger diodes? Possibly burnt out....

Nole,
Ah ha, could very well be the problem. And that is what I am about to test, been reading the manual and learning how to do it. I will post some results when I know more. Thank you, Aflyer |

Re: 2001 CC DS MCOR or VGlide
Sergio
When I bypassed the OBC by unplugging it and jumping across the Blue and White wires, the car did run, we drove it down the block and back. But it still would not charge. So I brought the charger home with me, and I ran about every charger test in the manual and this old beat up Power Drive charger passed them all. I then thought to put it on my DS Kit Car, which has no OBC and it took right off charging. My question is in addition to the blue white wire connection, do I also need to run a sense wire to the pack negative to allow the car to charge? Thank you, George |

Re: 2001 CC DS MCOR or VGlide
If You want to use the Powerdrive without the OBC to temporarily charge the cart:
The gray sense wire and the 10ga negative cable from the back of the charger receptacle need to go directly to pack negative. |

Aflyer,
OK, I can't believe I just did that same wiring on the DS Kit car and forgot all about it today. I have that CRS disease. Can you tell me which Club Car OBC I need for this car? The vin # starts with AC0109. Thank you again, George |

Re: 2001 CC DS MCOR or VGlide
That is definitely a question for David, the OBC for that cart is unique in the sense that it provides a high current output on the Blue wire instead of the newer OBC where the Blue wire just provides the lockout signal for the Controller.
