Good start: Check out this product to clean up all the black trim, floor mat, pedals, steering wheel, etc. No residue, non slippery (thus the use on the mat)

https://www.amazon.com/8oz-restore-p...+restore&psc=1

Here is a pic of my floor mat & dash. 2006 original mat, pedals trim etc.

I was actually just shopping for a good product like that yesterday. I picked up a bottle of meguiars plastic restore. You can kind of see where i did a test spot on the front driver's side corner. If it doesn't hold up I may give your suggestion a try. Dave actually suggested painting the trim with that Fusion plastic spray paint and has had really good result.

I love Mequiars products and use them exclusively on my car. Their spray detailer is great for a quick cleanup on the cart. The problem with most restore products is that they have silicone in them which helps with the shinny part but leaves everything slippery. None of that here. As fas as painting, there are a few carts at the club with trim that had been painted several years back. Naturally, they have some wear, but touching it up is not easy. BTW the stuff goes a long way.

jacef8,
Your build is looking good.

I pasted a link below to one of several youtube videos about restoring plastic finish with a heat gun.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PaYXCBX6BY

There are a few more to watch as well.

I have tried it with some DS bag-well and rear fender cap pieces. They did clean up pretty well, but you do need to be careful to not over heat them.

I thought there were other threads on this forum, but couldn't find them this morning.
