2006 CC DS 215/50-12 tire install
Hi I new to forum, but have been doing a lot of reading posts and has answered a lot of my questions with so much knowledge on here.
I would like to install 20.5 " tires on my ds dart. I have heavy duty springs on rear and looks to have enough clearance for 215/50-12 tires. My ideas for the front was to install Jake's extension kit or the 1" block. Can anyone give me the pro and con on the extension kit? I don't see a lot of posts about these kit. Both are about the same price. Thanks |

Re: 2006 CC DS 215/50-12 tire install
I have not tried it, but if it was me and I could place a 1" block in it and keep my front end lined up (camber), I'm doing that to be able to do it myself.
I like the A-arm lift kits and is what used on mine. In the old days (when there was no money) we made blocks and homemade U-bolts for all our red-neck lift kits and did mange to live through it to laugh about it later. (although we killed a lot of all-thread with U-bolt designs.... ) |

Thanks, I was not sure if jake's extension kit would change the front end alignment by moving it 2" forward. I will go with the 1" block which should give me enough lift.
Thanks agains |

Re: 2006 CC DS 215/50-12 tire install
You will need the extension kit because the larger tires will rub the rear of the fenders/floorboard area. I just installed one on my xrt800 and it works fine. The xrt has 5 plates in the front to raise it about an inch over stock DS,so you may want to put a 1" block also.
The tires in my avatar are 215/30-12 and you can see how close they are, I now have the 215/50-12s. The 30 profile road too harsh, there is no 'give' to them, 50 series ride much better |

Re: 2006 CC DS 215/50-12 tire install
I just installed 20.5" tall tires with 10" wheels on my daughters 2008 DS and all I needed was the block. Thought about the extension kit, but the block did the trick. Lots more work to do the extension kit install. (Flipping the upper control arms, cutting, re-drilling, etc.)

I'll add that I made the block and Dave @ Revolution got me the rear angled shackles that were 1" longer. They were dirt cheap.
