Quick question

Hey guys, I have a quick question. I believe I did something incredibly stupid, not exactly intentionally but non the less really stupid.

I have a 2001 club car ds 48v not iq.
It has sat for a couple years and today i installed new batteries into it. While doing so, i also replaced all the battery wires with bigger ones. Well when i went to do the main ground wire, the new bigger cable would not fit through the computer (i did not know it was the computer at this point) so i took a drill and enlarged the hole. I have everything hooked up and the cart runs just fine, my problem is though when i hook up the charger (powerdrive2) it turns on runs a few seconds, turns off for a second, turns back on for a little while longer and then shuts off and the battery light comes on and off every 10-15 seconds. the battery light continues to cycle even when im riding it around. my question is, was that hole in the computer a type of amp clamp? more than likely i already know the answer and that i ****** up the computer when i widened out the hole, i cant seem to find any other reason why the battery light would be flashing like it is and the charger cycling twice and the not charging.

it is required to charge the batteries to the proper voltage

you have 2 choices

1 buy a new OBC AROUND $200~$275
2 BUY A Dpi smart charger and by pass the OBC Around $290 ~ $350

you can sell the old charger to recoup some of the cost

i would go with the DPI charger

aside from being able to use a different charger, is there any advantage to bypassing the obc?

No advantage but since the OBC is no longer working it should be removed/by-passed.

upon further research, am i understanding correctly, to bypass the obc, i simply take the black wire that runs from the charger receptacle to the obc and just ground it out on battery #6? so cut the wire and take the obc side to ground?

this how I did mine (Thanks Sergio)

On the Series Cart, the OBC provided the negative side of the Solenoid activation circuit when the charger was not plugged.

You can just disconnect the "Yellow" wire from the Solenoid small post that goes to the OBC and tape it.

You then need to run a new wire (16 ga) from that Solenoid small post directly to pack negative or B-.

You also need to run the negative wire (10 ga) from the back of the charger receptacle directly to pack negative.

You can leave the sense "Grey" wire alone since it is not used by the DPI charger and it is not connected to anything inside their charger.
