Stereo in 48V CC - no room for extra battery
Bought a 2002 48V club car. No room for an extra battery. Previous owner had a stereo in the cart but I believe it's fried. I removed the pos/neg wires from it and my multimeter shows it's getting 17 volts.
Without the room for an extra battery, is there a wiring diagram to show how this should be hookup up to the voltage reducer? |

Buy a reducer from ScottyB or Dave at Revolution. They're site sponsors, carry the best stuff, and will provide wiring diagrams.
Stereo getting 17 volts prob fried it. Also that says it was probably running off 2 batteries in your pack. That's not good for the life of the batteries, it causes an imbalance in the pack. |

Re: Stereo in 48V CC - no room for extra battery
I did a lithium 12v install since it weighs nothing, can be mounted in any direction and doesn't draw from the main pack. I mounted it up in the frame right in front of the floor boards. It's next to the factory voltage reducer in this pic.
Then I put the fuse/distribution block under the seat with a relay powered by the key switch so when I remove the key everything shuts off Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
