Range on Full or Half Throttle????
So I have heard many things on this subject but can find no direct answers. The question is " does it take as much power or amperage to go half throttle as full throttle?" D&D motors claims you do not increase your range by any noticeable range by reducing your speed. I would have to assume IMO that "ride time" not necessarily range would be increase by going half throttle.... where does everyone weigh in on this??

Re: Range on Full or Half Throttle????
i agree with d&d .. i drive (15~20 mph) about 12 miles a day on paved streets and once a month i crawl around the same miles in grass spraying .. i have about the same voltage on my meter when i plug my cart in ... we keep records of our cart usage

Re: Range on Full or Half Throttle????
Well here's the kicker .... if I turned the controller down to where top speed was 12mph instead of 22 would it be more efficient and go further ?

Thanks for the replies Crash looking forward to any insight on this ..... Figuring out efficiency while trying to decide if it's forth the extra $ to go for eight 6 volts instead of the factory six 8 volts ..... I'm on 26' tires ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Range on Full or Half Throttle????
I've always wondered about the range as well. Thanks for bringing it up.

Re: Range on Full or Half Throttle????
26" tire is a real load on that drivetrain. Helped my buddy build a cart a few years ago with 25s but his has the 15:1 rear where yours may have the stock 13:1 which makes the load worse. He complains about range all the time but I remind him he is not a small man and turning that much meat burns amps.
