Too bad - Regen 2 can be converted to a programmable controller - but requires the wiring harness to be changed out and a couple other replacement parts. A bigger DIY project for sure.

You can buy more amps with a replacement Regen 2 controller and a new set of wires. Will attack hills much better, but top speed will remain unchanged. I believe mgray70 has just finished doing this Regen 2 controller replacement with his (not sure about whether he changed to bigger gauge battery/motor cables - but that definitely will help with hills).

I did a regen 1 to 2 conversion and increased to the 400 amp GE control conversion from FSIP. It did increase the torque on hills quite a bit, but didn't increase speed much at all. I have a regen 2 cart in the shop now that I think has a bad control. While I'm waiting for the owner to decide which way he wants to go I've been looking at different control options, and like I said earlier Alltrax did offer a DCX control with a adapter for the regen 2 controller. Not sure how well they worked, if any are still available, or if they make one for the new XCT control or not. If anyone knows let us know. I'd rather have the Alltrax than the GE anyway.

mgray70 / frankie....look HERE It seems still available, but in the olden-days I seem to recall people complaining about compatibility with the multi-step pot being "jerky". Might smooth out with the MCOR upgrade kit, though.

I bought this Club Car IQ 500-Amp Curtis Controller (Fits 2001-Up) www.buggiesunlimited.com/product.asp?sku=996 from buggiesunlimited. The chap said it'll work for more torque in my 2000.5 48v Club car DS. Hope it does gulp.
Thanks for all the replies eh

I don't think it will. IQ and regen 2 are completely different machines.

Aaaaack...they are a very-non-preferred supplier (I don't know exactly why, but there have apparently been "issues" with them). Hope everything works out OK.

We try to support companies that support this forum. They do not, but besides that I'm about 99.9% sure that control will not work on your cart. First of it says it's for 2001 and up, yours is a 2000.5. Close don't work with carts, only horse shoes. (That's a southern term. Maybe some of y'all will get it.[emoji38])

Ok I am gonna cancel that order from buggiesunlimited, and try and find a 400 amp GE control conversion from FSIP for my Regen 2. Thanks again

The FSIP higher amp model is FX503 (51-FX503G020K) - even though it's 500 amp it (appears) compatible with your standard motor. You could try calling them and explain what you are looking for - and consider their suggestions. mgray70 is right - the IQ controller from BU is NOT going to work.
